Lam Cheng Keung (lyricist) died last nite (16/11)

Post by Mavis »

Lam Cheng Keung (林振強), lyricist/columnist, died of cancer last nite. No other details were available at the moment.

Lam was one of the great lyricist in the 80s and 90s. He was one of the first lyricist to break from the old, traditional lyrics and incorporate more modern themes into Cantonese songs. His great works include:

"Foolish Girl", "Rebellious" (by Priscilla Chan)
'Catching star", "Don't ask why again?" (by Danny Chan)
"Suns and stars", "Love you more everyday" (by Jacky Cheung)
"Blank chair" (by Danny Summer)

In the 90s, Lam began writing columns for Next Magazine, and later on Appledaily.

As one of my favourite columnist, I'll definitely miss him. RIP

Sorry to hear that. Those were good songs... didn't know he wrote the lyrics to them.
