Yup, 18-55mm, although I have no idea what those numbers mean. Still learning :)

blah, lenses and cameras are just icing on the cake, they don't mean as much as people think, it's obvious that u have massive potential !!!!

Thanks, Eddy, for liking my pictures and for your encouragement. I'm still way off from taking any professional photos. Knowing what those numbers mean will help you select better lenses though, which in turn will help you take better pictures.

For example: I didn't know that lenses come in 2 varieties: regular and IS (Image Stabilizers.) And boy, are IS lenses expensive, yet necessary!

By the way, anybody know why ducks turn their heads sideways? (See picture #6)

why do humans turn or tilt their heads?

i believe they do this when they think. same apply to ducks. i think that one was just curious as to what you were doing. ^_^

In that case, for your information, there's a really good deal on memory cards at Dell right now. Take a look:

http://www.fatwallet.com/t/18/456457/

I'll likely get the 2GB SanDisk Ultra II.

Anyway, AWESOME that you got the same camera! We could learn something from each other for sure! :) In fact, do you know how to take Silhouette pictures of a moving subject (it should appear completely black) where the colors of a sunset are vibrant and there's no blur? What settings would I use?

I know it has something to do with "Exposure."

Here are some examples:

OH thanks for the link, I think i'm gonna get the 1gb one, I already have a 2.2 gb but one more won't hurt for my canon s110 (in some situations, i rather use this than the rebel)

I'm not sure how exactly, do you mean something like this http://www.seascarsdale.com/CP/set.jpg

Usually I think the angles are the most vital when it comes to sunset photos.

have u seen the rebel tuturials from
http://www.photoworkshop.com/

sorry, i'm still really new to rebel.

Yup, pretty much like that, but with that picture, you can still see the road... I'd like to have the foreground be completely black so that the sunset is more noticably vibrant.

Angles definitely are always important, but so are the settings ;)

Thanks for the link -- it looks really interesting!

Thanks again!

I love these photos! Those turtles look so cute! I used to babysit a turtle when I was a kid. She belonged to a family friend who was a vet. The vet and his wife had quite a zoo in their home. Turtles are pretty neat creatures. They like to eat goldfish.

The black goldfish died :( and we bought an another (who died 2 weeks later)... and then the orange one died too... we bought another one (orange), now there are only two fishes left (the white one with a red head and the new orange one)...

I was in shock when the first one died (more than my little nephews lolol) !!!

My white with a red cap ("Bully") died this morning too... I posted about it a few minutes ago in the "Long Distance relationships" topic.
