I don't know about other people, but I still couldn't "feel" Hacken as being one of the hottest male singers in 2003. His album sales are not bad, but none of his songs have been a big hit.

"Custom Made" contains one CD with 7 new songs, plus 3 CDs that covers all of his previous hits since his debut in the 80s. The 7 new songs aren't impressive at all. Track 1 "I don't know how to sing" reminds me of "Victory", but a poor replica of that, showing off Hacken's skill in singing those fast verses within a ballad. It doesn't have the grandeur like "Victory" has though, because the piano background sounds weak compared to a whole orchestra.

The other songs are "unremarkable", that is, nothing to brag about. All of them are ballads, except for track 7, the mandarin version of Hacken's duet with Alan "Neighbours left and right", which is much worse than the original Cantonese version. The other ballads sound bad compared to the 3 CD compilation.

Ratings: 5/10 (for the new songs), 10/10 (for the compilation)

Recommendations:
Skip the new songs and just listen to the compilation.

He hasn't released "hot" albums for a long time, no?
